Prior to entering the contest of ‘America’s Next Top Model’, Saleisha was working as a receptionist. She always knew that she had a photogenic and cute face, because of which she has been a part of number of modeling assignments even before winning the contest. She was also a part of a commercial for fast-food restaurant ‘Wendy’s’, with actor Tom Lenk, which also fetched her controversy that was later resolved. She has even modeled for DOMIJ clothing.
Saleisha entered the show as a very confident contestant, which was definitely a positive point for, but after sometime it became a subject of concern for the judges. For the same they gave her a Louise Brooks inspired black hair weave to edge her out. In the middle of the cycle it seemed that she was not very serious but when once she came in the bottom two she started working hard and a lot of improvement was seen, the one fact, that took her to the top. Her prize was a contract ‘CoverGirl’ Cosmetics, a contract with Elite Model Management. Besides she has appeared on the covers of magazines like Seventeen, InTouch Weekly, Ok!, Essence.
Saleisha has walked the ramp for designers like Tibi, Peter Som, Carson Kressley and Pamella Roland, just to mention a few. Saleisha has also appeared a number of times on the ‘Tyra Banks Show’. Saleisha has also attended Tyra Bank’s self esteem T-Zone camp when she was fourteen years old. As for now, Saleisha has signed herself with companies like Elite Model Management and L.A. Model Management.
