The tenth season of the series was aired on February 20, 2008. This season was shot in New York, where the first three seasons of the series were shot. The series had fourteen contestants, one more than the previous one. After, the final fourteen were selected; they were made to undergo their first photo shoot where they had to portray homeless women. Kimberly admits that she lacks the passion for fashion and quits the show, while evaluating the judges decided to eliminate Atalya. The girls, then, go through their makeovers. Their next photo shoot was planned on a yacht with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. On the yacht they had to shoot for Intimate, a line of lingerie. At the end of the shoot, the judges decided to eliminate Allison. Next, the girls were made to perform on a runway in front of the firefighters. While on the shoot they were simply given 90 seconds to change. The girls were then given walking lessons and for the challenge they were made to walk for fashion label ‘Tuleh’. When the result for the photo shoot came out the judges decided to pick Amis for elimination. The girls were then taught how to pose for different catalogues by supermodel Vendela Kirsebom.
Dressing up with the paints was their next challenge. Judges put an end to Marvita’s journey of becoming ‘America’s Next Top Model’. Girls got lessons about posing from Tyra. For their photo shoot the girls had to represent a different genre of music. While judging, the judges decided to eliminate Aimee. The girls were divided into groups of four, and were, then, sent to meet designers. For the photo shoot the girls were made to pose over a mylar sheet in water. At panel, while judging girls, the judges were very disappointed with Claire and decide to send her home. The girls were then taught how to handle interviews. This was the first time that the judging took place right after the photo shoot, which came as a surprise for the girls. The judges then decided to eliminate Stacy and the remaining six girls were taken to Rome. While in Rome their first assignment was a commercial for CoverGirl. The judges were not at all satisfied with Lauren’s performance and decide to eliminate her. The girls were then taught the basics of Gladiator fighting. The girls were then given lessons about how to make their photographs more powerful. For their next photo shoot they were dressed up in modern Renaissance fashion. While Katarzyna was sent home for giving bad shots, Dominique’s photos were appreciated by all. For the next elimination round, the girls were to depict Italian movie stars being pursued by the paparazzi. This time Dominique was not able to do well and the judges decided to eliminate her. With three contestants left, they had to do a commercial and photo-shoot for CoverGirl. The judges decided to eliminate Fatima. The two finalists were made to walk for an Italian fashion runway show. The judges then decide to make Whitney America’s Next Top Model, for cycle ten.
